NBR: Magic Jack?

Re-Posting this from the SAHM board.

 Anyone used Magic Jack before?  We got it about six weeks ago to replace the home phone and all of a sudden I am having massive problems with it but I'm outside of their 30-Day return policy. Ugh!

Anyone else used this?  Need help!

    if you want to continue using it, maybe you could do an exchange for the same thing? most stores will let you exchange for the same item.

    Glad to read this.  DH is all for the magic jack.  I'd rather drop the land line altogether.  We've heard many conflicting things.

    I'm about to throw it out the window.  I'd try Vonage - supposed to be much better.

    I have done all of their trouble-shooting things and calling locally is fine but if I call long-distance (which is ALL I do for work), no one can hear me.

    We have fast Cable (12 mbs) and I close out all other programs before making calls and reboot.  Nothing works.  Frustrating!

    My dad lives overseas and uses it to call the US. It works great for him. Sorry yours doesn't Sad
