Do people do baby books anymore?

You know, where you write down dates of when you found out you were expecting, felt baby move, due date, etc. And then first rolled over, crawled, etc. My mom had one for me but it is sadly pretty bare. I have not seen any around for awhile! If so where do you find them?

Re: Do people do baby books anymore?

  • I'm considering getting one at Paper Source or making one of my own. But that is one of those projects that might not happen!

  • I saw them at Babies-R-Us. I def. plan on getting one soon!
  • I am planning on making a scrap book instead, so I just picked one up at a book store.  I bet a Google search would come up with tons of baby books online, though.  My mom made one for me and my brothers and even has my bro's belly button scab (ewwwwwwwww!)

  • FIL got me one when I was pregnant with DS. Sadly, I never used it. I feel bad about that so I started to do a scrapblog to make up for it. I think he got the baby book at a Hallmark store or something of that sort though.

  • I found a cute one at Target, but I haven't actually started filling it out yet.

  • I did a journal, that I am far behind on for DS. I just write letters in there to him fairly regularly. I figure as he gets older I'll write at least once a year and give it to him when he's an adult.

To track all the big milestones though I used a calendar. It's very cool little baby calendar with a note section at the top to track every baby is doing that month, etc. I just can't keep up with things but I found this very easy to do. I will be finding another one for this baby.

  • I found mine at Barnes at Noble...It was difficult for me to find as well.
  • I have a baby book for DS and a calendar I used to write down milestones from his first year. I have lots of paper scraps with notes jotted down and the calendar is written on. I have not filled out his book at all. And since we are in his second year I still jot things down but as far as dates I am not so good about with out the calendar. I didn't keep track of anything from my pregnancy (either one).

I bought my book at Hallmark.

  • I bought one at Hallmark.  I update it when necessary.  I think it goes up to when our daughter will be 3?

I also bought a pregnancy journal from Barnes and Noble that I update weekly, kinda fun!

  • I had one for my first son and was really good for filling it in....until he got a bit older and the "pages/questions" didn't really seem to fit? kwim?
I did a journal too which was actually better for me personally. By the time son #2 came along I had no time for 'crafty' stuff anymore :(
I've seen them at Walmart and Babies R Us.

This. I already started on the pages. That way all I will have to do is fill them out and insert pictures.

  • My mom did one for me and I love looking through it. They have some cute ones at Barnes & Nobles.

  • I plan to keep a calendar specifically for milestones and do periodic scrapbook pages with summaries, at least monthly for the first year.

  • I've found one I like but I haven't purchased it yet. I've just been blogging about my pregnancy so far.

  • My mom got me one as well and I have been terrible at filling it out. One of these days I'll get the motivation!

  • Yes, I have the Belly Book, which is all about the pregnancy and then I intend to buy a Baby Book to be used from the time the baby is born... I found a really nice one sold by Serena & Lily - it's pricey, but very nice and will surely stand the test of time.  Recently my mother gave me my baby book that she filled out for me - it's so cute and interesting to read it - all the "firsts" and then even has my measurements throughout the first year, feeding schedule, my first solid foods... love it.  I am excited to do the same for our little one.

  • I am!  I still love to read my own baby book that my mom kept about my milestones, etc.

Granted, my son may not have that much sentimental attachment to his baby book, but he's getting one anyway.  :)

  • I actually just bought the Beatrix Potter baby book in Barnes & Noble. It's really cute! And it has places for all of those little milestone. I started filling it out already!

I also am making a "the first 9 months" book through snapfish. Its just a baby book highlighting the photos we have, ultrasound photos, for the time I am pregnant. I will start a new one once she is born.
