Morning everyone!
So, for a long time now, I have always wanted to name my daughter if I had one Olivia. Finally, I am having a girl, and guess what? Olivia was the #6 most popular name in the U.S. in 2008 and #1 in Michigan where I live. I am not a big fan of super popular names and trendy (which I guess it isn't trendy) so I'm not sure what to do. I still really like the name, but I also don't her to be one of the five Olivia's in her class.
What would you ladies do?
Oh- FYI- DH really likes the name as well, and has no problem with its popluarity.
Re: Sigh... name dilemma
Who cares if it is popular or trendy?! If you love the name, use it
Don't let this bother you!
My nephew is named Ethan, and they knew perfectly well how popular it was, but went ahead and gave him that name anyway. They both loved it and it suits him.
So go for it! Its a really pretty name
This!
I personally couldn't use a name that was overly popular. I would be afraid of my child being stuck with Olivia B. for all of her school years.
JMO. I'm a little annoyed that my oldest son's name is picking up in popularity, actually.
My favorite name for years was Isabella, and now it's the second most popular girl name in the country, so I dropped it. I don't want my kid to have the same name as lots of other girls her age. I had the same problem when I was in school, and it was annoying.
