  • Once I got home from the hospital, it took about a week for my hunger to return.

Alot of food hurt my stomach- I never threw up, but I had trouble on the other end....gross, I know. BUT- it's gotten better, and now that I'm 3 wks out, I'm back to normal....at least tummy wise.

  • I forget what it's called but you will get a pain from the catheter.  It's a minor infection that feels like a UTI.  It's really painful when you pee.  It will go away in about a week.

I did lose my appetite for a while but it came roaring back.

     Good luck!

  • I thought I had a UTI after my c-section - I had some stinging and bladder ache when I peed but the urine test was negative.  I think it was just things healing from the catheter, the surgery, and from laboring and pushing before surgery.

  • like PPs mentioned...you could just have the "feeling" of a UTI from the urinary catheter...totally normal, as is the lack of appetite. Don't forget, you had nothing in your stomach for quite a few hours, then had clears, blands, etc. BUT....if you think you have a UTI, get it checked out b/c it could have spread to your kidneys (a kidney infection), which can cause lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, etc. Any fevers? Any pain in your back? The pain can be masked b/c of pain meds you might be taking from the c/section

  • sorry no uti...just a yeast infection from the antibiotics

as pp said, the uti could be caused by the catheter

my stomach hasn't been right, but it hasn't been bad either, sorry I can't be of more help.

I would definitely talk to your doctor about both problems

  • I had some pains from the catheter but they checked for any infections and i was clear.

as for hunger, i havent felt that hungry, but i thought it was just me being super busy and sleeping as much as I possibly can.

  • I am starting to feel back to normal which is nice and my incision is almost invisible. which is awesome!
  • I got a UTI and did not feel it because of the pain meds and it progressed to a kidney infection. I ended up collapsing after I tapered down the meds and the pain from the infection could be felt, started vomiting and it was AWFUL! They put me on extra strength Augmentin and it got the kidney infx right away.

I hope you do not have an infection and its just residual discomfort, but just in case its obviously best not to have to take any meds when breastfeeding, but Augmentin is safe. It is something they give directly to LO with severe infections. What one needs to look out for is make sure there is no rash that develops, which could indicate a penicillin allergy, as Augmentin is amox (very closely related to penicillin) and CA. The other concern is if it were to cause diarrhea in LO.

  • Thanks,I made an appointment
