Dawson wont nap in his crib anymore :(

Ive been putting him to nap in his crib for the last two weeks and its been wonderful. He goes down drowsy but awake and usually falls asleep within 5 minutes after some soothing from mommy and paci replacements.

BUT, for the past two days he absolutely refuses to nap in the crib and will only do so in the swing.

What should i do? (naps are very important since he is a little cat napper)

  • Could you let him fall asleep in the swing and then move him to the crib??

  • How about a sound machine or something to make white noise? We have a sleep sheep and I think that helps (we always put it on the sounds of crashing waves). Gabriella also has one of the crib rainforest soothers that has rainforest sounds and glows. That doesn't make her fall asleep, but it chills her out and then I turn it off so that she can fall asleep.

  • C will usually nap in his crib but only for 45 min.  I just bought some blackout shades to try and make the nursery darker so he's more likely to sleep longer.  Maybe try making it as close to his night sleep surroundings as possible - dark, quiet, etc., and do an abbreviated bedtime routine?
  • Why don't you just let him nap in his swing? J takes her afternoon naps there.  Usually a 2-3 hour nap too.

because he wont fit in his swing forever. I want to establish a good sleeper.

Is he still sleeping okay at night?
