A few questions for you:
1. What made you buy one?
2. Do you use it during naps, night, or both?
3. Do you use the sound & pictures or just one? Are you putting LO down drowsy but awake or pretty much awake and letting the sounds/pictures put him/her to sleep?
3. Are you glad you bought one?
Thanks!
Re: Baby crack machine users
We don't have a "real" crack machine, we have an Ipod dock and a FP Seahorse (he is a bit crack-like though.)
1. The Ipod dock I just wanted to have for music in the nursery. The Seahorse I bought because it was highly praised on the boards.
2. Nightime we use the Ipod for bedtime music (instrumental Disney) and the Seahorse. The Seahorse we use anytime at night when he starts getting restless. It usually calms him down unless he's hungry or wet. I put the Ipod on when I have him in the crib while I get ready.?
3. He has to be at least drowsy for either to put him to sleep, but I'll put the Ipod on regardless.?
4. Yes. To both. ?

1. MIL bought us one. She didn't know what it was but I was really excited when I realized it was the BCM.
2. I only use it during bedtime because its part of her bedtime routine.
3. I only use the rain option. DD can't be bothered with the lights. She glances over and then stares at something else. I put her down drowsy but awake. The rain sound doesn't necessarily help her sleep but it helps drown out the background noises (me getting out of the room, us talking in the living room w/ TV on). It also is our life saver when we travel and all have to sleep in the same room because it drowns out snores and movement. The heartbeat never worked on her and the ocean goes from being low to being loud and it wakes her up. The music wakes her up to.
4. I didn't buy it but I wouldn't miss it if it were gone since we only use the rain option. Her Baby Einstein Ocean Wonders Aquarium has the same sound only it shuts off and I like to keep the BCM on all night.
1. What made you buy one?
Nite nurse recomended it, until he as slept through the nite consistently.
2. Do you use it during naps, night, or both?
Both. He hears it and seems to know...okay time to sleep.
3. Do you use the sound & pictures or just one? Are you putting LO down drowsy but awake or pretty much awake and letting the sounds/pictures put him/her to sleep?
We use this sound machine. It doesnt have pictures, but it is loud enough, which the nurse said is a problem with alot of the baby advertised ones. You can also use it in an adult room when you are done w/o it looking silly. In addition the clock is projected in a soft blue light onto the ceiling when you switch it to do that which is great for top off/dreamfeeds and early on middle of the nite feeding to know how long LO has been at it and its enough light once your eyes adjust with another small blue nitelite I don't need to tur on any lights,
3. Are you glad you bought one?
Heck yes!
I bought one for DD but returned it and got a lullaby cd with way more songs. DD rolls onto her belly all the time so she couldn't enjoy the ceiling projector. I think the baby crack machine only had like 6 lullaby's.
What is the Baby Crack Machine is??? I feel like I am really needing this in DS's life b/c we are not sleeping well AT ALL.
Thanks!!!!
