Babies with flat heads?

Does anyone have a LO with some flatness to their head?  DS loves to sleep on his right side and his head is getting a bit flat there.   We move his head to the left when we put him to sleep but he ends up rolling over on the right side. We tried more tummy time, he hates it.  We do have him in the exersaucer most of the day.

My question is has anyone had to use a helmet or did your LO's head improve on its own?

TIA!

  • My ped recommended that we turn her in her bed (head where feet used to be) so that when she looks in my direction (rather than the wall) she will be off the flat spot. Its finally leveling out now.

  • LO's head is improving on its own.  We did lots of time in the bumbo and exersaucer.  Keep up the tummy time...eventually he will like it.  Try putting him to sleep on his side...I saw a big improvement when we started doing that.

People recommended the noggin nest, or head bed but didn't really work for me.  Check amazon.com

Keep doing what you are doing, it will get better, but it takes time.  As their brain grows the head will round out.
