3rd Trimester

How much are you ladies working out these days?

I'm trying to stay as active as possible, but it's seriously getting more difficult by the day.

I do prenatal yoga 1x/week, 30 minute walks 2x/week (with some very light weight-lifting), and one longer walk 1x/week. It doesn't seem like that much compared to what I used to do, but I find myself exhausted, even after the 30 minute walks (at a moderate pace). And just getting the motivation up to work out is like pulling teeth. Sometimes I feel great after my workout, but some days it just seems to make my back/hips/pelvis hurt more.

How are you ladies doing?

  • 4-5 days per week, doing weight training, cardio, yoga.

I generally feel better if I keep up with it

  • LOL!  You're talking about working out and this morning I was complaining about how it took me 20 minutes to even get up off the floor by myself.

I WISH I could still work out but everything hurts at this point.

  • ugh, you're doing so much better than me.  By the time I get home from work, my back is in so much pain I can't even sit up, much less get to the gym.  It makes me sad, because I had such great plans to stay active.

  • Still working out 5-6 days per week.  Elliptical, treadmill, walks with my dogs, spin class and Group Power (weights class 2-3 times per week).  I admit a minor obsession with exercise, but I also think it helps me feel somewhat 'normal'.  Half the battle is just getting to the gym - good luck!

  • yeah, at this rate, I have a feeling that once I reach those last few weeks I won't be doing much of anything.
  • I work out only twice a week and thats getting hard!
  • DH and I take an evening walk 3 or 4 times a week, but it's not very far or intense at all. Generally my crotch starts to hurt so bad or the pressure kicks in and we have to turn around before I've even made it a quarter of a mile. The funny thing about that is everyone tells me I'm *sooo* little for being 34 weeks. I say, "Tell that to the bowling ball strapped to my uterus!"

  • I've been working out 4 times a week - cardio kick boxing (low impact), walking and weights.  It's getting challenging, but I've heard that it will really help labor and also taking the weight off after the baby arrives.  So, keep it up girls!!
  • "work out" is a foreign language to me Embarrassed

i've never been fan. i walk the dogs like once a day (let everyone else take them all the other times), and i try and walk up and down the street during chatty calls with girlfriends. other than that.... hellooooo couch :)

doc says im healthy, weight looks great, and he wouldnt change a thing- so why sweat?!!?

  • DH and I walk every day. I try to walk about a mile, but sometimes don't make it that far with the pressure on my bladder or crotch! Walked about 3 miles on Friday, and I had more problems than usual rolling myself out of bed on Saturday...that probably won't happen again :)

  • I'm still taking a spin class 3-4 times/week. It is the only thing that I still feel comfortable doing. Most of the time getting there is the hardest part- once I'm on the bike I feel good.
  • I've had to cut back quite a bit these past couple weeks, due to hip issues (keeps locking or giving out, so I can't walk much anymore).

  • It hurts to WALK, much less a work out!  My goal is to stretch and walk for 30 mins every evening... the stretching has really helped me sleep better and I'm walking to get this little boy to think about making an appearance at some point in the near future.  If it wasn't for that- I might not be walking as much as I am because it just hurts way too much.

  • I've been doing a lot of swimming.  I usually do an ellipitical while DH does the treadmill (he's an avid runner) and then I do a weight resistance set.  To cool down, I swim laps in the pool for like 30 minutes.  It has really helped my swelling!
  • I work out 6 days a week for about 1.5 - 2 hours each time.  I mix it up between jogging, eliptical (which I used to hate but have come to accept due to my increasing size), heavy weights and one prenatal pilates class a week.  If I dont workout I feel worse all day.

  • I try to walk 30 minutes 3x/week, do my prenatal yoga DVD once per week, and do light weights for 30 minutes for my arms twice a week.

That said, at this point I'm happy if I walk twice and do weights and the DVD once per week.
