Diaper Champ vs. Diaper Genie

Coming over from the 3rd tri to ask you ladies a question. I had my shower yesterday and I got a Diaper Genie. I've heard and read lots of good and bad things about this diaper pail and same goes for the Diaper Champ. I have a gift receipt I just wanna make the best choice.

So can you tell me what one is your favorite and the pros and cons? Thank you!

I'd do the champ since it takes regular garbage bags. But I don't have either of them

I have 2 Diaper Genies and I love them. I've never used the diaper champ but its really up to you and your preference. The Diaper Genie though has a special plastic for them but it takes awhile to replace them.

I have a Diaper Genie Elite II and I love it. However, had I done my research a bit more I would have gotten a Diaper Champ since it takes normal trash bags.

We have the Diaper Champ and love that it takes regular bags; we don't have to make a special trip to get refills.

We have the Champ because I didn't want to buy refills. We just put in a new trash bag when it needs changed. We've been happy with it so far.

I LOVE our diaper champ. It is easy to change the bags and it doesn't require special bags.

Personally I believe both are just as good as the other ...

Champ takes reg bags which will be more cost efficent in the end vs. the refill for the Genie

I have the Genie Elite and am fine with it

I have the diaper genie elite also and I love it. The refills last a long time and are not really expensive (regular garbage bags are just as much!) Mine has kept the smell out and it holds so many diapers.

We had the Champ until we switched over to CDs and *loved* it. No smell, used regular garbage bags (no expensive refills) and wasn't as bad for the environment.

When it comes to the Diaper Genie, I often think people are going to be going through our landfills centuries from now and wondering what we so important about these smelly white packages. Why would we bother to wrap them so carefully? Stick out tongue
