My freakin sciatica

I'm so over this!!  I would feel great if it wasn't for the stupid sciatica....

Re: My freakin sciatica

  • Tell me about it, I've had back pain since 20 weeks and shooting sciatic pain since 24.  On Saturday, I took a nap and literally couldn't straighten my back after an hour.  Not cool.

I'm starting yoga and pilates this week.  Something better help or it's going to be a long 13 weeks.

  • I am sitting here with a heating pad on my calf...my pain goes all the way from my back to the little bone on my ankle.  I was told I could use the pad on my calf since it is far away from the baby, but only on low. I can't stand up straight and it just makes my back hurt even more.  Last night I tried some yoga streches while my husband rubbed my back.  What helped the most was on the ground on my knees and elbows rolling my back while my husband rubbed my hip.  Too bad he had to go out of town for 2 weeks today :(
  • I am in 2nd tri, but sometimes lurk over here.   I have had bad sciatica issues before and during pregnancy.  Things that cleared it up for me was seeing a chiropractor, getting massages in my lower back/glute area and then using a foam roller.  I don't know if you have tried any of these...but I hope this helps!

  • want actual relief?

DH is a massage therapist, and does this thing to make it go away... it was so great when I was pregnant with DD I had him write a post about how to do it...

...get your SO to do it to you, and you'll feel sooooooooo much better...

  • I hear you. I see my chiropractor two to three days a week now. My sciatica is now being complimented by extreme pressure and pelvic pain. Yeehaw!
