Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Double strollers - the ultimate question! HELP!

Side to side or front/back? I have no idea which I would prefer. Which did you go with and are you happy with your choice?

FWIW: DD will be 26 months when #2 arrives. I want to use the stroller for walks in the neighborhood (sidewalk) and when we go to a store or the mall.

TIA!

  • we're going with front and back. baby trend double that converts to the sit and stand.

  • I hate the ladies at the mall with the side-by-side strollers!  They take up a ton of room.  If I had one, it would be for walks only.

  • I have the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem. I LOVE it. So easy to manuever and loads of space and storage. I want a double jogger too but don't have one yet. Once I get it I will have either option I guess :)
  • We went side by side and I love it.  I like that they both get to see ahead.  Mine is also very light weight and was good from infant up without a carseat adjunct because it has a full recline.  Now, My oldest won't be out of the stroller for quite some time, which is why I opted against the sit and stand, in your case, it may be something to consider.

can you fold it up easily and put it in the trunk of your car? am i weak ;) because it seemed so heavy to me. it was one of the first strollers i tested out at BRU>

  • I have the Baby Jogger City Mini which is a side by side & love it. I like that I can see & reach both the kids at the same time.  It's a great stroller!

I tried out a couple tandem strollers in person but they all seemed too heavy, bulky,or  harder to push.

I don't think it's too bad. I have a small SUV so I don't know if thats taller than a trunk or not but it's easy for me to get in there. The fold is really easy too. You do have to take one of the seats off to fold it up and I thought it would be a PITA and I would hate that part but it's really no big deal. The seat come off easily and I toss it in the truck, fold up the stroller and toss it in too! I was doing all this, including the lifting in and out of the truck, when DD2 was not quite 2 weeks old...so it can't be that bad :)

  • Neither. Get a Phil & Ted.

  • We are getting this one.

It's a sit-n-stand, with a twist.  You can use an infant car seat on the "stand" part, while the older child rides in the front.  Then, by the time you're done with the infant seat, the younger child can ride in front and the older can use the "stand" function.

My DD will be 27 months when this baby is born, and I think she's too young for just a sit-n-stand, but I only want 1 stroller for all needs, and I really think this is going to fit the bill.
