If you're out with LO and there is no changing table what do you do?

I was at Wendy's with my mom yesterday and DD pooped right as we got there.  So I went into the bathroom and there was no changing table, I was a bit surprised.

So I had to change her in the car which sucked because she moves way too much and it was 106 degrees out yesterday.

My mom mentioned to the manager they should have one in the bathroom and he said to call the number on the back of the receipt cause there was nothing he could do about it.  Weird.

Has this happened to anyone else?

  • i have done is in the car which I agree sucks, I have also done it in the stroller, just reclined it and it worked well.

  • I hate public bathrooms so I always chnage LO in the car or on the grass somewhere. I don't know what I'll do in the winter!
  • I've had to put her changing pad on the grass outside (I was at a festival) and just do it there. Sucks, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm in the opposite position, summer sucks here and winter I know I can just change her in the trunk cause theres more room!

  • Its great having an SUV just for this reason. Now when it is cold and snowy I don't know what we will do.

  • You could have changed her right on the table in Wendys. Then the manager may have cared.

  • I cannot deal with public restrooms at all, so I change LO in the car.  If you took the microbiology class I took, you would feel like your having a panic attack just passing by a public restroom, LOL!

Seriously though, I dread potty-training b/c at that time you really have no choice but to go in one.

Ha!!  Seriously how much could a changer cost to put in the bathroom??

  • Its truly surprising how many places don't have changing tables, mostly restaurants of course. I never noticed before LO but now I noticed it at a lot of different places. What I usually do is change him in the car before we leave to go into a restaurant or mall.
  • A lot of times I change her in the car even if there is a table in the bathroom because the bathroom is dirty.  I haven't had any problems so far with car diaper changes, though she is still young and we haven't been out too much.

  • The car wouldn't be such a bad thing if it weren't a bazillion degrees here, we've done it before when it was cooler but yesterday was just ridiculous.

  • I do it in the car if we're out in a public place.  I'd actually rather do it there than in the bathroom on their changing table -ick.
