I have read conflicting things. I am waiting to hear back from my doctor and trying to get in touch with the OB too.
I need to have up to date TB vaccination for work , but am not. So I need to know if it is safe to get the TB vaccination. I am only 6 weeks along. My regular dr. said she thinks I can but need to find out from OB. I am super paranoid about this because I have already had an unexplained stillbirth.
Anyone know about vaccinations and pg? The dr. won't get back in touch with me for a couple hours.

I thought they meant it was a vaccine. Maybe I am wrong and it is just a test. They said it with the MMR so I was thinking vaccine. If it is just the test then I am fine.
If it is a vaccine that they are talking about, I don't think it can wait. I work with small children and it is policy.
I think that you probably have to have the PPD. They inject some TB antibodies just under your skin, usually on your arm. They mark the spot where they injected and then you have to go back 2-3 days later to have it "read." (They look to see if there is a rash around the injection, which means you test positive for carrying TB--it can lay dormant in a person for years)
I just googled the TB vaccine and found out it is extremely rare to give it to an adult because it is not very effective in adults and TB is easily treated with antibiotics, if you know you have it. That's why they usually require you test for it regularly (once a year where I work) rather than vaccinate for it.
Yes, you guys are right. It is the test...I was confused because they were including it with the MMR. Everything I read online says there is nothing stating that there is a risk.
So why do I feel so unsure and nervous about this?!
