Unsolicited Advice from a New Mom

When you are registering for your baby shower, do not register for a large gift pack of bottles.  Instead, register for a few single bottles in different kinds.  It's definately trial and error trying to find the right bottle for you and your LO.

I tried 3 different kinds before I found one that didn't make DD gassy.  Plus if you get ones that have a bunch of parts (i.e. Dr. Browns), they are a pain to wash.

Re: Unsolicited Advice from a New Mom

  • Very true. I went through 5 different kinds of bottles before we found one that DD would take.

  • Thanks!

I was looking at bottles for my registry last night and was going craaaazy.  The little things seem to be the hardest sometimes!

  • thanks.  I still registered for a couple of Dr. Browns.  Hopefully, it's not too complicated.

  • This piece of registry advice can't get repeated often enough.

I have a gazillion bottles that DD never took.  I hope this LO is more willing, LOL.

  • thanks!  which types would you recommend trying?  are there 3-4 that seem to be most popular?

  • I was lucky, DD loved the 1st bottles we tried (Dr. Browns).  Yes, they have more parts but I just fill the sink with hot bubbly water and let them soak.  She has NEVER had gas/colic etc.  I swear by Dr. Browns.

For us, the playtex drop-ins worked out best.  Even with the Dr Browns, DD was getting to much air.
