experience w/ Simply Thick

we've started on Simply Thick to help with DS's choking problem.  A few questions!

1) Normally we give him a 4 oz bottle mixed with 1 T miralax every morning.  Do you have any suggestions for how to do this w/ the Simply Thick together?  We tried it today but it became too thick and he couldn't drink it, so then ended up adding more straight milk until he could drink it.  Any tips?

2) Once you mix Simply Thick with EBM, will it still be good for 2 days in the fridge?  

3) Do you find it easier to mix up a day's worth of milk? Or just 1 packet at a time?  Any tips?

4) Similarly, if you travel, do you mix ahead or bring the packets with you?  We were using formula for travel so we didn't have to refrigerate.  I'm assuming if we used formula it would still mix the same way/ratio/etc.

    I LOVE Simply Thick.

    1. I also give DD Miralax, but we mix it in with her fruit. That we we don't have to worry about the miralax sticking to the side of the bottle, etc.

    2. I think it will still be good. Simply Thick isn't like other thickeners that continue to thicken over time.

    3. We mix up a full container of formula, let it dissolve for an hour or so, then add the Simply Thick. This container usually lasts for 24 hours.

    4. We only use formula, and don't travel often. I just bring her a regular bottle if we're going to be somewhere when it's feeding time, so I'm not quite sure how to answer this question.

    Seriously though, Simply Thick changed my life. It's worth every penny.

    We used Simply Thick when DD first came home from the NICU.  We used it for about 2 months and it was wonderful!  We would mix a full pitcher of formula at a time and then it would be used within the next 24 hours. 

    We didn't travel when we were using it, but I think if I were then I would just do one bottle at a time. 

    We also used the y-cut nipples (dr. brown's) when we used the Simply Think.

    according to the packet from  the NICU,  it is only good for 24hrs. WOuld mix 1 day worth at the time.

    would use level 4 nipples as my daughter as an  amazing suck but if that doesnt work for you a Y cut might be best...u can get them at toy r us
