First call to poison control!

I got a voicemail from Dh on Thursday that began with "Everything is ok."

DS attacked his change table and found the petroleum jelly. DH walked in the room and DS had this stuff all over his arms, legs and on his face. DH wasn't sure if he actually ate some or not. The jar said to call poison control. Poison control said he should be fine, but have a few extra diapers ready since it is a laxative.

  • Oh gross.  Glad that your DS is ok though.

  • Our first call was for a tube of sunscreen. They were so nice and helpful. Mark this milestone in the baby book :)

  • Oh man!  I'm glad he's ok, but I bet that's going to be a fun mess to clean up. . .pre-diaper AND post-diaper!

HAHA! I was at work, so DH had to do it.

  • eew. lol. I wish the labels would just say that instead of call poison control. We once called bc dd ate some (not sure how much) of her Aveeno baby lotion. They said it's non toxic and not to worry, give her some extra water to wash it down.
  • Oh man I just had to call today too. My Mom was watching him and said he got a hold of a bottle of dog shampoo and sucked on it (some of it was caked on the outside). They were very nice and said the only concern would be if he had an allergic reaction...so far so good.

  • DS was with MIL and apparently he grabbed an ant trap. She had no idea where he found it but she wasn't sure if he put it in his mouth. I called poison control and apparently ant traps are 99% peanut butter. They said there was no reason to be concerned unless DS had a peanut allergy.
