Anybody else have Negative blood type?

So at doc appt yesterday I learned I needed a shot bc I am A- blood type and DH is A+. Doc tells me LO prob has + blood type and if our blood touches I could become immune to + blood type, which will attack any + blood type in the future (like when 2nd baby is developing and is + blood type my body will attack that baby).

Anyway, I understand why I need the shot, but wondering if anybody has here has had it?

I haven't, because I am b+, but I know it is very common and nothing to worry about. ?

I'm O Neg so I got the yummy Rh shot. It didn't hurt too bad.

Got mine at 28 weeks. It hurts, but not too bad. No big deal.

Yup, I've had it. Once when I was pregnant with DS (who turned out to also be Rh negative), once after a miscarriage, and twice so far this pregnancy (I've had some bleeding).

Rh incompatibility is pretty common, and the shots are very safe and effective.

I think I had a shiitty nurse because I had a horrendous bruise after the shot.

Yup here too. Sounds like it's pretty common from what I've read on the boards. I think only 15% of people have negative blood though. I laughed to DH that I should play the lottery because I'm a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis and RH- I have to have some odds in my favor Smile

Shot was totally fine for me too just a little jab in my butt then no pain for the rest of the day. Good Luck!

Im 0 neg and DH is O+. I got the shot at about 28 weeks I think. Just A pinch and its done.

Yup! I'm A- as well, DH is O+. I get a shot in the butt in a few weeks!

I am A- and I really don't remember what DH is but apparently he is something + because I am getting the shot on Tuesday.

Yup! I got the shot on Thursday along with the GD test. I didn't get the option of arm or butt...she just stuck my butt and I jumped a bit. It was sore for the first hour or two but then I walked it out. It's not so bad.

I'm a little surprised your doc didn't do it earlier. As long as you got it, you're good. I had to have the Rhogam shot when I had my miscarriage and then at 28 weeks with this little one.
