Babies: 9 - 12 Months

8 months and suddenly naps are horribly tragic??

I'm losing all patience with this and I need some advice... As soon as Ivy got mobile - her naps went to hell. Now, she SCREAMS in there for sometimes an hour before she actually falls asleep. And when I peek in, she's either standing up and can't get down or she's sitting up in the corner or something and when I go to lay her back down she just screams and screams and screams. And immediately my blood pressure shoots up and my patience is gone and I have to leave the room and walk outside where I can't hear her becuase I'm just.so.frustrated.

Anyone have any advice on how to get her to go down smoothly like she used to? Before she knew how to move around in her crib so much? I can't deal with this every single time. I feel like I"m going to lose my mind if she doesn't start napping again peacefully.

  • Shane has been on a nap strike since about...oh...the day he was born.  I don't imagine it will change much for me once he is really moving.

  • Ours have always been terrible. She fights sleep like it's going to kill her. MH doesn't understand how a baby can be born who doesn't know how to go to sleep.
