oh fun! if you'll be in town by and free on friday night, I'd definitely recommend seeing if there's a friday night "Fish Fry & A Flick" down by the lake.
otherwise, the art museum has a warhol exhibit going on until the end of the month... totally want to get around to that...
some of my favorite restaurants in milwaukee are casablanca, trocodero, the roots cellar, bayou and the ethiopian cottage restaurant. beans and barley is pretty good, and there used to be a cute place right by there (not sure if it's still there anymore!) called hotch-a-doo. those are mostly all on the east side, but i'm partial because i used to live there before i got suburban but thanks a lot economy, a lot of the restaurants we frequented are no longer there
for hotels downtown, i've stayed at the intercontinental (super nice), the metro (super nice) and one of the two marriotts... one's like the courtyard, and the other is the residence in, but both are nice places.
also if you've never been on a sprecher or a lakefront brewery tour, they're very fun (though if you're expecting, you can't really enjoy much of their goods
