I mostly lurk here but thought I would post because I liked reading the stories. I was scheduled for induction on Monday but I ended up going into labor on my own on July 11, my due date. The night of the 10th I think I walked about 4 miles trying to get something started and I guess it worked because I woke up around 1:30 am with contractions. DH is deployed so I have been staying with my mom and she and I just hung out at home and waited to see what was going to happen.
I labored at home just doing some walking and sitting on the big ball because I did not want to go to the hospital and get sent home. Around 3 pm the pain got a lot worse and they were closer together and we started getting stuff into the car. At 5pm I had a horrible contraction and my water broke so we left for the hospital.
At my 39 week appointment I was not even 1cm and only 25% effaced so they did not think I would go into labor on my own. By the time we got to the hospital and checked in, around 6:30pm, I was 5 cm and 90%. I got my epidural right away because I was exhausted from all the contrax earlier in the day. By 8 pm I was 7 cm and by 9:30 pm I was ready to push, we were just waiting for the doctor. When she got there she had me push a few times so she could turn him around since he was face up and then rest for a while. I could feel a lot of pressure and I told the doctor and she said it was time to push again.
Chance Jonathan was born at 10:40 pm, right on time for his due date. He was 7 lbs 6 oz and 21.5 inches. He is so amazing and perfect. Good luck to everyone!
