3rd Trimester

Maternity Underwear????

I'm having underwear issues. My bikini underwear are digging into the crease of my underbelly and I can't take it anymore. Is it worth it to get maternity undies at 30 weeks? Are they really comfortable or do they roll down? Please tell me if I should bother going out tomorrow to get them.

Re: Maternity Underwear????

  • I got regular hanes cotton panties that feel nice, I wasn't planning on using them till PP but I had a cyst on my tail bone drained today and decided I would rather ruin the "ruinable" undies. So I am wearing my PP undies till I stop with the bleeding and its healed.

the only thing I would worry about is that maternity undies are usually really high up, and those cut into my bump really bad. I personally like the undies that ride under my belly

  • I use maternity underwear and it doesn't roll.  I have a c/s scar and it is irritating to it when my regular underwear rubs it.  I'm also not sure if I'll be having a repeat c/s so I'll need underwear that goes up higher.

  • I had to get some last week, and they are much better than my normal.  They stay up pretty well, I got them from MM.
  • Not long after I found out I was pregnant a friend told me to buy maternity underware. I let it go till about 25 weeks and I wish I had gotten them sooner! I got them from Motherhood and Love them. Hope this helps.
  • I broke down and had to buy some last week for the same reason. If you go to a motherhood maternity or old navy, they have maternity bikinis and the various other types of underwear. You go off of the size that you would have worn before pregnancy. they are so much more comfy. The bands are either wrapped or really soft so they don't dig in. I personally thought they were worth it.

Yeah, it's irritating my old c-sec scar as well!

  • I got some of the Barely There underwear from Kohls.  The material is really soft and comfy.  They ride low enough to not roll too.
  • I wear hipster underwear - they sit below my belly and below my c/s scar (though I think my c/s scar may be higher than some others - I have a really long torso).
  • Thanks Everyone!!!!

  • I bought some really comfy ones at Motherhood... they are the cotton hipsters and omg... the minute I put them on it was heaven! They scoop low so they don't roll on me and its $12 for a pack of 3. I didn't get them until about 34/35th week but I consider it money well spent!
  • i won't spend the money on maternity, just get a bigger size in a brief cut. not the prettiest things ever but they work. i had to tell DH thought otherwise he would just laugh at me

  • I just bought hanes boyshorts in a size bigger than what I normally wear. I havent had any rolling issues and they were around $5 a pack. I figure I will wear them with the pads post partum and then toss them when they are nasty.
