And I feel like a horrible furmommy. Its more of an outer ear thing, the inside and outside earflap is all scaly and nasty. He's been scratching at it a lot lately, but I just pinned him down and got a good look at it. He's scratching so much he's starting to take the hair off!
Poor pug. It's really sad/gross looking. I'll have to get him an appointment next week when DH has a day off to take him.

Do you have ear cleaner to help keep it under control? If you don't you can use vinegar/water combo to make one yourself to help keep it under wraps until you can get him in.
PS dont let it go too long cuz he can get a hematoma where the two pieces of cartilage in the ear flap separate and then fill up with fluid... no fun to get rid of (usually requires sutures)
Yes, I read about the water/vinegar thing online and got him into the bathroom and scrubbed it out really well. It feels/looks better for right now, and he's not messing with it, which is good. Poor little guy.

Good, I'm glad it looks better! My lab has a horrible tendency to get ear infections and I'm a vet tech and it's still hard to keep under wraps sometimes! Some good cleaning with solution and cotton balls can really help! Good luck!
