About kiddie chairs... my two cents

Those pbk chairs are cute. But I can't imagine paying that for a chair she'll outgrow so soon, and probably pee, poop and throw up on at some point.

She has a lawn chair that she loves. I paid nine whole bucks for it at Target.

Can I have my cheapass mom martyr badge now?

I only bought a PBK chair because I had a gift card. Otherwise I would have a lawn chair for DD too.

I love those chairs but I'm just going back and forth on spending that kind of money. From what I hear, the chair lasts for a long time--it's pretty big so they could probably use it at least until they are 5 or so. But I totally get ya.

I got one for about $20 from a model home auction and ds should be able to use the one I bought through 5-6. Unfortunately ds will on stand in his rather than sit so I have it put away due to he kept tipping over.

Ours was a gift from Grandma. Not sure if I'd have bought one, but honestly he loves it so much I'm glad we have it. FWIW, he doesn't hasn't ever spilled, peed or pooped on it. And the cover is washable in the event of such soiling. I totally understand not being able to justify the cost though.

We have an Anywhere Chair that was a gift and a wooden rocker I bought at a yard sale. He loves to sit on the rocker, but he LOVES to flop and play on the PBK chair.

I didn't buy the infant chair, I bought the regular size PBK chair and it is supposed to last until she is at least 4. One of my friends brought her 8-year-old over the other day and he happily spent the afternoon sitting in DD's PBK chair with a gameboy in his hands, so I am pretty sure that the chair will last a while.

But I know it's a splurge and there are a lot of other things I haven't bought DD just so I could get her this chair.

I have a little rocking chair and a lawn chair that we got as gifts. I really wanted the PBK chair and was bummed people got us other stuff instead. But I love that I can take the lawn chair outside- I couldn't do that with the PBK chair! And ds is quite happy in his rocking chair so looking back, it all worked out. I do feel like the PBK chair would last longer and be more comfortable than the others, but I don't want a couch potato so I don't want ds sitting for too long! LOL
