PBK Chairs

Did anyone get these for their kids? I'm thinking of getting one for DS's1st bday. I noticed that the regular anywhere chair fits 3-6 year olds where as the my first anywhere chair is for 1-3. Are they really that different? If I get the regular one now so I don't have to buy another one in a few years is he really not going to be able to use it? TIA

Re: PBK Chairs

  • I got the oversized one for DD and it's really not big for her at all. She has no problems getting up into it.

  • I would not get the frist anywhere chair!  That is the one I got my son and he is almost too big for it at 14 months.  If anything I would get the oversized one!
  • Here's a pic of her in it...

  • Can you get something similar anywhere else?  It's out of my budget, but I love them.  Can you buy the slip cover there and the chair somewhere else?

  • Thank you! Very helpful, I wouldn't have even considered the oversized... I want him to be able to use it, but not grow out of it in 2 months!

I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. I was surprised that it was just 4 separate pieces of foam that fit into the slip cover, so maybe you could make your own pieces to fit into it? Ours was a gift from MIL...I'd never spend that much money on it!

  • I went ahead and got the regular sized one, not the baby one.  DD has no problem getting in or out of it!  The baby one is so teeny.

Good idea. Try ebay, just found the inserts there. https://cgi.ebay.com/anywhere-chair-foam-insert-pottery-barn-kids_W0QQitemZ290348804000QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item439a2327a0&_trksid=p4999.c0.m14

  • There is a big difference in the size of the chairs.  I bought Emerson's when she was about 8 mo old and got the big one so that she could grow into it.

It was perfect for her at a year old.

  • i know they're not exactly the same, but i found some cute options at Target:

    solid pink velvet

    purple gingham check

    blue/red piping

    "leather" club chair

regular price $79, the employee said they go on sale occasionally.  I think i'm going to do the "leather" club chair for DD so that i can use it for another baby, can easily wipe off spills/dirt, and it will blend in w/ my house better.

  • ebay for sure. check out the seller posted for the insert. then just search for the covers but make sure you get the right size cover, i almost got the wrong one.  do a special search for personalized ones too, sometimes they are cheaper. I got mine for $10.50. good luck!

  • I got the foam inserts from ebay for a little bit cheaper and the cover from PBK.  I would get the regular or oversized chair.  DS fits well in the regular chair and should be good for several years.

I know that it is kind of expensive, but DS LOVES his chair.  He sits in it ALL the time.  So worth the money in my opinion.  I also bought one for my nephew because he loved DS's so much.

  • I got the My 1st for DD and now have the regular sized one too.  They are both side by side and she still prefers the My 1st, but she is on the small side.  The regular sized one seems huge for her.

Also check craigslist.  I got 2 regular sized chairs with inserts and covers for $45.  I also got her My 1st on craigslist for $20.
