Hey all!
So, my shower has taken an unusual turn. We were planning to do an outdoor, co-ed cook out with no real "baby shower" games. I just didn't want to make anyone feel like they HAD to play "Measure Mommy" or something like that. Instead, we were just planning to have lots of outdoor games (water balloon toss, frisbee, etc.). Well, it looks like it's going to rain tomorrow and we'll all be stuck under the pavilion, and I don't know how to keep our guests entertained! So, I want to plan on playing a few games that are baby shower appropriate, but not games that will make the guys feel awkward. Can anyone think of games that are fun for everyone? About 35 people have said they're coming, but it might be a touch less if it drizzles.
Any suggestions you have would be AMAZING! Thanks so much!
Re: Fun/Unique Shower Games?
I responded to this just as The Bump went down
Here are a few games I've played at larger co-ed showers:
Price is Right: Have someone buy several different types of baby products (pack of onesies, wipes, diapers, etc.) and everyone guesses the cost. Person who comes closest without going over wins.
Cartoon Characters: Print out a grid of cartoon characters, modern and older, and have everyone identify them (i.e. Dora, Snow White, Bob the Builder)
Famous Parents/Kids: Have one list of kid first names, and another of parents, and have everyone match them up. This can be either movie/TV characters (i.e. Emma, matched with Rachel Green and Ross Geller) or celebrities (i.e. Shiloh, matched with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt)
There's the shower game with plungers and toilet paper rolls... My MIL showed me a video for it. It looks rather fun and we plan on doing it for our coed shower. One person holds the plunger between the legs and they run down to a person who has a toilet paper roll between their knees. The one with the plunger has to ring the toilet paper roll onto the plunger. There's two teams, whatever team finishes first wins.
Now if I can find the video...

My mom did two really cute ones that were great (I thought) for guys and girls:
Bow Game - Everyone wears a bow at the beginning and anyone that says baby loses their bow to the person that hears it. It was fun at our's because my dad wore his the whole time and my good guy friend was totally into it and had like 10 bows on his head by the end of the day!
Cute Game - This is for the drinkers. Anyone that says cute has to take a drink. The girls (my mom and her friends) had to drink quite a bit!!
Poem - (you can use a picture frame or bottle of wine as the gift to pass around). It was funny at mine because the girls were all into it but a guy ended up winning. Here is the poem:
Look around and you shall see,
A box that is a mystery.
A simple little game we'll play,
Don't think hard....enjoy! O.K.
Listen carefully and you shall hear
Who it belongs to will soon become clear.
It could be something fair to wear.
First, pass it to the one with the longest hair.
If you like to take walks, it may be for you.
Next it goes to whoever wears the largest shoe.
It might be a diamond, a girl's favorite thing.
Pass it now to the gal with the biggest ring.
It might be something daring and bold.
If you're wearing the most red, it's yours to hold.
Perhaps it's for a writer, close to fame.
Pass it over to the one with the longest name.
Could it be for the traveler who hates to delay?
Give it now to the one from the farthest away.
It may be something that warrants a "tah-dah".
Now give it to the one with the biggest bra.
It may be to hold memories strong and true.
If you've known [Name] the longest, it goes to you.
Or maybe it's a gift for a special day.
Take it now if your birthday is nearest today.
This poem must end before it is night.
So pass the gift now to the one on the right.
Congratulations! You've won the prize.
Unfortunately the box is empty inside.
