D.C. Area Babies

OB Recommendation in Alexandria, VA or DC?

Hello, my husband and I just moved to Alexandria, VA from PA and will need to find a new OB. I was wondering if there was anyone in that area that has an OB they love they could recommend? We are considering OBs in our immediate area in VA as well as downtown D.C.

Thanks!

  • I go to Capital Women's Care (formerly Northern VA Gynecologists) on Walker Lane in Alexandria.  Love them!  You have to rotate and see all of the OB's as whomever is on call the day you go into labor will deliver your baby.  Dr. Kusic (one of my faves) delivered my DD and I am going to them again for prenatal care now that I am pg with DD #2.  I have found all of the doctors to be great, but my stand-outs were Dr.'s Kusic, Stas and Tran.

    Their phone number is 703-971-7633.

  • Dr. Jeffrey Elliott and Lashgari out of Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, which is right next to DC. Amazing. There are several others on here who use them as well.

  • I'm another advocate for Capitol Women's Care on Walker Lane. Dr. Kusic is fantastic and super enthusiastic. I have yet to go through delivery, but I find it really comforting that I've met all of the doctors at least once and I will know who is delivery our baby no matter who is on-call.

Also, they were really supportive and friendly while going through some gyn stuff last year. So they are good outside of the baby department too. Good luck!

  • I really like Physicians for Women (physiciansforwomen.net) in Alexandria (near 395/Seminary Rd).  I've now met all 5 drs in the practice and I don't have a bad things to say about any one of them!  The office staff has been really helpful too!

Another rec for P4W.  I was considered high risk, had to go on bed rest a couple of times (including 3 weeks at the end), my son was born prematurely, they worked with the Perinatologist, and we couldn't have been happier with the care I received.  Dr. Rothman was my 'assigned' dr., but I saw them all multiple times (especially since I had pre-term contractions) and Dr. Seigal delivered in the end.
  • I also go to Capital Women's Care. They are all very good, you don't have to wait long in the waiting room, the nurses are really nice, even the people at the front desk are super nice. Although you have to see all 5 (or is it 6) doctors, they all do a pretty good job .
  • Another vote for Physicians for Women.

  • I go to OB-Gyn Associates of Northern Virginia.  I highly recommend them.  They are also on Walker Lane at the Inova Heathplex
