LittleMissLadyBug re: getting ears done (PIP)

This was literally right after she had hers done...not a tear, not even a noise. numbing cream 30 min prior at the pedis office and she was a perfect patient!

  • I love it!! DD loves picking out earrings now. When I took her in for her 4yr pictures last week she asked if she could look through my jewelry box and find some earrings.

btw- you are gorgeous! (sorry that sounds creepy, haha)

Ahhh figures you come out for this...

MORNING MOD! Lu and her "trashy" self give Grant-o-licious a slobbery kiss.

  • She's beautiful (so are you)  and I love her little earrings! My dd didn't cry either when we got hers done at 9 months. I can't wait to get Elle's done.

  • What was your reasoning for piercing her ears?
  • They do this at the pedi office?
  • I had myine done when I was a baby as did my sister...just the way our family does it. So now Lu does too.

Thank you, and not creepy, flattering. :-)

  • My pedi's office did it up until a month or two ago... right when I was going to take her (dammit).  I would prefer to do it there, really.  It's probably the most sterile.

  • Our pedi office does it too, but I'm not going to pierce her ears for a long time.

Yes, you pay more than at the mall (which was NEVER an option), but it is sterile, clean and someone who knows what they are doing.

to mutilate her beautiful ears and make sure no one would mistake her as a boy. Kind of how I had DSs foreskin cut off because of vaninty.

whoa! Defensive much?! I honestly wanted to know..I'm not judging so calm it down a notch. Hey, it's your kid, do what you want, but I just don't see the point. Plus I'd be paranoid about LO ripping the earrings out because I know my ds loves to pull on earrings.
  • Thank you! I think they are adorable too. I think it's crazy that people think of my baby as "trashy".

Babies tend to pull on earrings because they can see them, and they are sparklie. They can't see their own ears.
After DD had hers done I alcoholed them 3x a day and turned them 2 x a day. I felt more comfortable depending on myself to take care of them while they were healing. She has never tugged on them and honestly has no clue they are there.

I do know that when she is 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10, 35 whatever, both her ears will be done. I have a friend with an 9 year old who has one ear done because after the first ear she was scared to death to get the second one done. She was 7...so for 2 almost 3 years, she has worn one earring. She likes the earring, but refuses to get the other one done.

  • what a beauty, i love her earrings

Sorry. I'm in a pissy mood. After re-reading it I realized how b*chy it was. I'm just tired of the trashy comments on here. A baby is not trashy.  Honestly DD didn't cry, and the only time she pulled on them was when she had an ear infection. They have different backs on them so they can't just tear them out.

no problem. I don't think they're trashy and of course a baby could never be trashy. Pierced ears are just nms. Mine are pierced and I had a lot of problems because I can't wear certain metals. I never wear earring now because my ears get irritated from them.
