  • That wasn't the case for us, but, even though he STTN 99% of the time, he still has "off" nights. Last night he was up for about 2 hours crying - we held him, gave him a bottle, changed him, etc, but he was unhappy. Don't get discouraged...these guys are unpredictable!

  • I've heard that the second night can be worse than the first because they begin to realize the first night was not a fluke, which makes sense to me. That being said, our second night was much better than our first.

I hear you have to commit to a week before you make up your mind if it's going to work. But an hour of crying is certainly enough to make you want to change your mind! Hopefully tonight will be better and you won't have to wonder if you should continue or not!

PS. What kind of method are you using?

I am sleeping in his room and when he wakes up I just let him be. Am I doing this right. I hope???

  • HAHA. Anyway you decide to do it is right? lol... But that's the way I did it as well. I usually say ni night and lay her back down (she always stands up) when she first wakes up and then I lay in bed and pretend to sleep until she figures out how to go back to sleep on her own. The first night it took an hour, the second 15 minutes, and the third she slept through the night. Now she either sleeps through the night or wakes up once and immediately goes back to sleep that first time I lay her down... Which is pretty amazing since we could never make it through the night without a bottle before!

Good luck, and let me know how it goes...
