Moving out of NICU tomorrow! :)

Molly will be moved to the secondary care nursery as soon as a bed is open (likely tomorrow).  She still has her central line in, but that will likely be removed in the next day or two, and she is up to 25mL of bm at a feeding (makes all the pumping SO worth it).  She is only half an ounce down from her birth weight, too!  And she is also off of all oxygen, even the canula.

I've come to be so much more at peace in the last day or so - I think starting to get my milk (albeit through a feeding tube) has made her so content; you can see the difference in her. Now when I hold her I feel happy and gushy instead of panicked and sad.

Thank you all for your welcoming and reassuring responses to my OP the other day.  I can be as snarky as anybody around the Bump, but there really is nothing like a supportive board like this when needed.  Embarrassed

  • Yeah Molly!  this board is amazing.  I almost can't handle being on any of the other ones now.  Glad to hear all is going so much better for you!

  • Yeah Molly!!!

My little sister's name is Molly and I always called her Mollinshka as a nickname, so everytime I see something about Molly, my first instinct is to post "Mollinshka" instead!

Anyway, I'm so glad you are feeling better.  I can't wait until you are posting that you are bringing her home!!!!

  • That is fabulous news!  Congrats!

I wish I had found this board when Matty was born - you ladies all seem so awesome and supportive.

    You and me both!  Smile

  • Hi there. I missed all your posts because I have 2 week old twins in the NICU also born at 32 weeks but I just wanted to say Hi and Congrats! I have been pumping like crazy too and it is frustrating when I don't have enough for both babies but I am trying to do what I can. Anyway, I just wanted to say that the first week was by far the hardest, when they were on oxygen and all the tubes, etc. Now all they have is feeding tubes and of course the monitoring sensors. Well, I have to go pump now, lol.
