QOTD:  I know that this is assuming that everyone is in maternity, but...

What is the most you have spent on your maternity wear?  What was it?  Do you regret it?

Me: I am thinking about splurging on some jeans which is what prompted this qotd!  I know someone that owns a boutique and she has a super sassy pair of Serfontaines available.... $200 but I have a girlfriend that wants to go halvsies on them with me.  (She is ttc for #2, so would be using them after me)  I don't think that I would regret them... unless I was paying for all of them.

Re: First in '10 Thursday Check In

  • I have kept all of my maternity purchases under $40 per piece.  I got 2 pair of black pants, 1 pair of khakis, and 1 pair of jeans.  Most of my tops are still fitting me but not for long.  I bought 1 maternity shirt from Kohl's for around $15 and I washed it once and it got tiny holes in it so I am taking it back!

  • I haven't really had to spend a lot on maternity wear yet...I bought a belly band and some pants second hand so they have been helping quite a bit but I think the peice I have spent the most on is a pair of khakis that were close to $50...watch out for me- lol

Were you able to get some winter sale items?

  • The most I have spent on a single maternity item so far was $32.99 for a pair of jeans at Target yesterday.  I guess I've been lucky until now, finding really good sales and deals on mat clothes.  I'll likely splurge on one pair of designer jeans in third tri since I'll be wearing them a lot in fall/winter and hear they fit and wear much better.

I do anticipate one larger purchase soon because I need a formal dress for a wedding in early October (I'll be 26 weeks).

  • Wow the teams are a bit lopsided, aren't they?

The most I've spent on 1 item is $35. For a swimsuit, so that I can go swimming come winter. I don't regret it.

On second thought. I bought a nice pair of leather slip on shoes (since I can't really bend down to tie my sneakers anymore) for $65. They'll last me for quite a while though, so no regret there either. Plus, they are SUPER comfy!

  • QOTD: I think the most I have spent on maternity clothes was $50 (including shipping) for a lot of 8 shirts on Ebay, but I am a huge bargain shopper! The most for a single item was $30 for a new bra... :)

  • I have had great luck with getting things on sale, especially at Gap where I got several shirts for under $10 (originally $40-50). I did splurge on nice black pants at Gap for $50 but I wear them to work twice a week. I also spent $35 on Mamma Mio belly butter cream but it's amazing and I don't regret it.

  • I'm seriously confused. We are team pink, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I can't figure out how to get the badges at the bottom.

I went on a spending spree. I had to go "back to school" shopping, so I bought a maternity wardrobe. I wish I had more tops, though, and maybe a couple more pairs of pants. I haven't worn a couple of pieces yet because they are more for cooler weather.

you know... i had a hard time getting my team pink badge up as well.  Hmmm.  Well, I can't help you there, but I will put you on our team lists at the next update.

  • I've been lucky and received hand me downs from my 2 BFFs. The most I spent was ~$50 on Natori bras. Well worth it!

  • I've been trying to keep my maternity spending down -- thankfully, I've gotten a ton of great hand-me-downs from friends!  I did, however, splurge on a nice new bra from VS -- it's amazing how comfy a proper fit and good quality can be!

Also -- we just found out yesterday that we're on Team BLUE!!

My most expensive item so far has been my Gap Jeans, but I love them and do not regret it at all!  Thankfully my cousin had a pair of Citizens maternity jeans she passed on to me so I didn't have to shell out the $$ for designer jeans.

  • Please add us to team blue!

QOTD: I haven't spent more than $10 on anything yet (most of the clothes have been given to me or I spent a total of $15 on 6 items at the local thrift store).   I have been looking at a really cute shirt online at Motherhood Maternity that is about $60.  I just might go for it if I get the job I just interviewed for today.  Just a congrats present for me.

    V=viability

If your baby was (god forbid) born after 24 weeks it has more of a CHANCE of survival.  It is definitely NOT something to hope for of course, but it is a milestone in our pregnancy journey.

Oh ok, wow, thanks for clearing that up.

  • I am pretty cheap when it comes to buy clothes for myself, so nothing too expensive.  I have a pair of $50 pants from the gap that I wear to work and a pair of jeans that were $35.  Everything else has been less than $20.  Shirts/Tops I haven't wanted to spend more than $15 on, which I am finding difficult...

    Big Kid Jan 2010

    Littlest Man Sept 2012

  • I have not spent on dime. (only my bra) all of them was hand me downs from my sister and cousin who both just had a baby. I love it.
  • I'm not quite to V-day yet, but I will be next week!

I had my 23 week appt. today. It was completely uneventful and went well so that's good. Avery's got a very strong heartbeart! I'm now up 10.4 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight.

QOTD: I haven't spent alot on one maternity item in particular (although I will when I need to purchase a winter coat), however, I'm sure I've spent about $400-500 on maternity clothes in general throughout this pregnancy. I had to start wearing maternity clothes at right around 13 weeks.

  • I was really fortunate and had a lot of maternity clothes passed down to me! I am excited because it is saving me a TON of money!
  • QOTD: No one piece has been super expensive (I think the most around $60 or so). I just can't see spending a ton when I'm only going to be in the stuff for a few months (who knows what time of year I'll be pregnant next time).

A fabulous pair of jeans would be one item I'd be willing to spend more on, but I've been really happy with the pair I got at the Gap and am inclined to save a jeans splurge for post baby weight loss. ;)

  • I haven't purchased much in the way of maternity items yet, besides the crazy new bra collection. I'm making do with my Bella Band for now!

  • $30 for a pair of Gap maternity on sale. I refuse to spend a lot on maternity wear and have found some great deals at consignment shops. I also shop for "regular" tops and dresses that can also be worn as maternity clothes. I'm a dance teacher so I don't have to dress up for work or anything- if I did I'm sure I'd be spending more.
  • Not more than $40. I hate spending $ on clothes I'm not going to wear much. About half of them are hand me downs from friends and another third are clearance finds. I'm a total bargain hunter :-)
  • The most Ive spent was $70. I LOVE 7 for all mankind jeans, they fit me so perfect, so when I found out I was pregnant I started checking ebay and craigslist for some used maternitny ones. I got a few sizes, 3 pairs total, two off ebay for $60 and $70 and one from craigslist for $20! I wear jeans almost every day in the winter so I felt like these were well worth it!!!! If anyone goes for these the secret fit belly is more comfy than the thick waistband type.
  • I have been lucky to so far. My friend and her friends all got together and gave me there stuff. Most are long sleeved. My MIL asked to by me some cloths to so, She and I went and she got me 2 new bras, a pair of pants and a shirt at Kohls, not sure on the price. And my mom got me 3 or 4 cute shirts and a pair of black pants. So I have spent anything on cloths.

  • I am another one of the bargain shoppers. I have never been a designer clothes kind of girl and we are one a pretty tight budget until I can switch jobs after the baby arrives. The most I spent on a single item was a Motherhood Maternity shirt that I think was $30. The shirt said "Mom in Training '10" and I wore it to our family's big 4th of July get together to announce the pregnancy to our extended family.
