I was just reading another post and read that this is a no no. Why? I did not know this and now have no way of knowing which of my "stash" I've done this with. How bad is this & why? Should I just stop doing it going forward or do I need to throw what I have out?
Re: combining pumped milk of different temps...no no ?
My thought is that you can still use the old stash, but discontinue doing it from now on.
from what I understand, you can combine freshly expressed milk with refridgerated milk, but not freshly expressed with frozen. You don't want to thaw any of the frozen milk with the warm milk.
I, too, pump and refrigerate throughout the day and combine them for freezing.
The Ameda website's guidelines say it's not a problem to add fresh milk to refrigerated. https://www.ameda.com/milkstorage/more.aspx
