Who else hated pregnancy?

Come on, I know there are more of you.

Re: Who else hated pregnancy?

  • I'll confess, I was not a fan at all.

  • I didn't really hate it, but I didn't enjoy it, either. It made my anxiety even worse, and I was hot and miserable.

Not that I wouldn't do it all over again, given the outcome.

  • I didn't mind my first pregnancy. I have hated this one. It's going to be tough to have a 3rd b/c I do not want to be pregnant again!
  • ME!!!!  This one hasn't been as bad, but I'm still not one of those women who love being pregnant.
  • Me and I feel horrible for saying it.  I had the easiest pregnancy of anyone I know and I still hated it.

  • I hated it.  completely.

If I had the money I would pay a surrogate to carry my second child.

  • For me, pregnancy only meant fear, a terrible wait-and-see game, and crushing back pain.

  • Pregnancy=anxiety for me.  The physical stuff I can deal with, the mind_fvck, not so much.

  • Hated it. I was miserable. I vowed I'd never do it again (until DD came out and I saw how wonderful having kids was). I was sick and in pain the entire time. I was anemic. I had to have surgery during the pregnancy. And she was 2 weeks late!
  • I hated parts of it....BAD m/s until almost 20 weeks, HORRIBLE heartburn and acid reflux that made me have to sleep sitting up and I puked in the middle of the night almost every night, being on hospital bedrest for the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy, gaining 60+ lbs. Even with all that I can't wait to do it again :)

  • Me.  I really don't want to do it again, we'll see how I feel about it next year.
  • I don't particularly like it - I don't necessarily hate it, but I certainly don't LOVE it.

  • I wouldn't say I hated it, at least not all the time, but I definitely did not enjoy it.  And I really thought I would love it, so it was a big deal to me when I didn't.  I had to work on "letting go" of that expectation.

This second time has been just as bad physically, but better mentally/emotionally.  I'm thankful.  Though anytime this m/s wants to go away, that would be great.  Please?

  • Me!  It wasn't all that difficult, but I hated it anyway.
  • The only part I disliked was the 6 weeks of mandatory bedrest.
  • I feel bad saying it but I don't love it.  I don't hate it b/c you get a great reward at the end.  But it's not fun.  My m/s has been horrible the past week; it's gotten worse and I'm in 2nd tri.

  • i liked the belly and the movement. that's all

i had m/s, lightning crotch from hell, had to give myself daily shots that burned like a mofo, then by the time my appetite came back i was diagnosed with gd and felt like i was starving on my protein diet.

i wasn't a fan. i wouldn't mind another child right now, but the thought of another pregnancy like that one + chasing my dd around --- ugh, no way.

  • Me me me!!! But that might have something to do with the fact that I was sick all day, every day, from about 16 weeks until I went into labor!!

  • Me!  Mine was pretty standard: a little m/s, a little heartburn. But I gained 55 pounds and had horrible Pubic Symphysis Disorder that made rolling over in bed an event that ended in tears.

Also, I must be evil because a lot of times I didn't like feeling him move.  He liked to punch my cervix and it felt like an alien invading my body.

  • If I could bypass morning sickness, bedrest, and back labor...I'd be all for having more right now.  I didn't mind the 2nd trimester, but wasn't a huge fan of the rest.

  • I was sick for seven months of my pregnancy...definitely not enjoyable.

  • Me. God forbid I actually have a rough pregnancy next time. I was miserable throughout the whole thing, and I only had about two weeks of (horrid) morning sickness, and everything else went smoothly.
  • HATED IT.

    :3 snaps up in a z formation:

  • Me! First Tri is almost a dealbreaker.  I have already had 4 stomach viruses in the past year (WTF?) so this m/s is really already old.  The rest of the pg was not so bad, but this is bad enough.
  • Not a fan of it here...and I feel guilty about that to this day b/c I we weren't "planning" the pregnancy, I never really felt bad, and it went really well...hoping the IUD comes through for another 3.5 years like it's supposed to, b/c we are done at one!
  • Being pregnant was not a fun time. I lost my grandmother 2 days after we found out we were expecting Madi and I had my first bout of M/S on the plane ride home from the funeral which lasted the rest of my pregnancy. In fact I got food poisoned at about 20 weeks and couldn;t tell properly for half the day because I was already nauseous all the time :)

After our first U/S they noticed that our baby may have only a 2 vessel umbilical cord (if it turns out to be true it can be heartbreaking look it up on google. Thankfully she was okay and had 3). Then came the GD, anemia, and blood pressure issues. The weekly ultrasounds to make sure she didn't stop growing, but didn't get too big either. And then the icing on the cake was when my BP got waaaay too high and they informed me that I needed to be induced, but we had to wait for 3 days and even then they only called us at 3:30am to come in. The two best parts of pregnancy for me were labour/delivery was 5 1/2 hours beginning to end and the fact that the most beautiful little girl in the world arrived on Canada Day and it was love at first sight with her :)

Even after all of my issues we still want to have at least one more child

  • I wasn't really a fan. I wish growing a baby was a shorter process. I like feeling the first kicks, and everything, but 9 months feels like forever.
  • Me!!!!

I had hyperemesis, a zofran pump for 21 weeks, preterm labor, preterm membrane rupture, hospitalized bedrest and a preterm delivery with NICU stay.

  • I didn't hate it, but it annoyed me to no end not having full control of my body. Probably the same reason I don't like getting drunk and I could never be on drugs. That out of control of myself feeling drives me batty.

  • Ugh.  Not a fan.  The morning sickness started at week 5 and lasted 24/7 until about week 20 or so.

Month 6 was alright...then the back and rib pain started.  Then the pelvic pain...pretty much constant pain until the end.  Thank God he came a little early!

I guess the best part was that I initially lost 10 lbs and looked pretty darn good there for a while until my belly popped.  Too bad I was spending most of my days hunched over the toilet.

  • the only part I don't hate is 2nd tri - even that has it's moments. I really dislike being pregnant, I'm not stoked on doing it all again right now, but it's nice to know this is (99% sure anyway) the last time I have to deal. the reward is great, but being pregnant pretty much blows, imo.
