Is it normal for my 1 month old to

Not want to be held a lot?  Lately, he seems to like being put in a swing or in his favorite arm chair instead of sitting with me. He used to want to *only* be held, but it seems as though that has changed.

Haha, yeah, it is nice to have breaks now from sitting with him but it is bittersweet because I love holding him.

Also- welcome to the capital area!

  • yeah locals! i think we should start a play group! im dying for mommy interaction!
  • This happened to us too.  Although she'd rather be on her playmat than in the chair.  There are still times when she wants to be held or calmed, but she certainly doesn't want to be passed around & will only sit still (aka I'm not walking around holding her) when she's too full to care.  She does like to be walked around though...that's the only time I get to hold her.  I think they're just independent & curious about their surroundings!
