NBR: Recipe Conversion

I'm reposting this from Stay-at-Home Moms Board b/c that board is kidna' slow.

I'm making a chicken recipe tonight and instead of using wings, I'm going to use legs...

Can you look at this recipe and tell me how I might need to change the cooking time and temp?  (Hopefully it comes out clicky!)

  • totally not related to your post-

but check out America's Most Wanted Recipe's-- Ron Douglas cookbook. (Or https://www.Recipesecrets.net) the cookbook has those recipes you've been craving like the cheddar bay biscuits from red lobster (and if you sign up for the emails they give you the recipe for Olive Garden's chicken Marsala nad a few others like wendy's chilli)

    mmmm... worth a shot

  • You could probably go down to 375 degrees but still cook the legs for the same amt of time.

  • Mmmm.  Sounds good... thanks!

Also, love the new pic of your baby... can't remember his name.  Glenn?  Or is that middle name?  Either way, he's a cutie!

Oh, you think go down on the temp but keep the time the same?  Won't that leave them pinky since they're thicker than wings?

  • 45 min should be just fine for legs... I roasted a whole cut up chicken on Sunday at 400 degrees for about 50 minutes and even the chicken breasts were completely cooked through. Just keep an eye on them to make sure they don't look like they are burning or drying out and cut into one of them to check to make sure they are cooked through before serving.

  • I wouldn't think so.  I have a oven fried chicken recipe that I use and I always do legs at the 375 temp for 45 minutes or so.  It certainly won't hurt though to cook them at the same temp as you would the wings and check them at 30 minutes and see how they are coming.

    Thanks very much!
