? about IC

Just a question I was thinking about.  I have an IC.  If we were to try to get preg with #2, does the spacing between children increase or decrease the likelihood of delivering early and/or the success rate of a cerclage?  Or does it matter? Does anyone know?

Re: ? about IC

  • I too have an IC...all I know is that my peri wanted me to wait at least 2 years before TRYING to get pg and they told me the longer the better, BUT that I'd still n eed a cerclage regardless....the length of time (they seemd to indicate to me) between pgs would hopefully give me more of a chance of NO BR.

  • Oh! very good to know.  I'm just thinking about #2 (I know, stop it).

    thanks!

  • I have not been officially diagnosed with IC, but technically I do have it.  My OB wants me to wait at least a year, but said the longer the better in his opinion.  We are going to wait 2-3 years before we get pregnant again.

I made it to 37 weeks with DS after being on bedrest for 17 weeks and I was on a lot of meds.  I did not have a cerclage placed at 20 weeks when they found my cervix shortening because I was also contracting so they were afraid I would just rip thru it.
