DD is only 8 weeks but I am just wondering when I will be able to retire the swaddle and how do I know she is ready, etc? Right now she will only sleep if she is swaddled. If we unswaddle her she is wide awake. Every once in a while she gets her arms out and seems to do just fine. Just wondering if I should start transitioning her out of it?
Re: How did you break the swaddle?
I hear you guys! My daughter was addicted to the swaddle and couldn't sleep without it. She didn't break it until 3-4 months...at which point, we started with one arm out, and then two arms out, and then no more swaddle. Took a few nights, and some restfulness, but eventually she did it.
I wouldn't rush it - as they start to break out on their own - you'll be able to do it easier.
