I think DS has one. I had a wicked one and had to have surgery for it...it's almost unnoticable now (unless I'm way stressed, tired, or drunk....). A lot of babies out grow them, though. I wouldn't worry yet--just keep an eye on it (haha, no pun intended...)
Yes, DS has a lazy eye. His left eye turns in towards his nose, especially when he is tired. I mentioned it to my pedi at his 3 mo checkup, and she said he may outgrow it. I mentioned it again at his 4 mo checkup, and she said we would see how it progressed at his 6 mo checkup. The next day she told me she had changed her mind and sent us to a pediatric ophthalmologist.
The ped opth said he has low vision and a lazy eye. Anatomically he could see nothing that was causing it, but said since he was born at 37 weeks, it could be a development delay. He referred us to a neurologist to have testing done to see if his optic nerve was functioning properly. Those tests were done this past Thursday. We are now waiting for the results to see where to go from here, which could be wait until 6 months to see if he outgrows it, patch his eye, get DS glasses, or surgery.
My older daughter had lazy eye. She was prescribed glasses when she was four...aftr waiting to see if she would outgrow it. She still wears the glasses...she is eight now. But they did correct the amblyopia(lazy eye)...she needs the glasses for astigmatism that caused the amblyopia.
