burning/acid feeling tummy

Just wondering if anyone is having an acid feeling or burning feeling high up in the tummy, like right around the rib catch. I have never had heartburn and I don't think it is that...any suggestions?

Anyone else have this weird thing? Just wanted to ask before I call the MD

It's totally heartburn. I'm having it for the first time in my life right now.

It's a result of increased progesterone relaxing your muscles, including the sphincter that separates your stomach from your esophagus.

I agree with pp. It is heartburn. I haven't had it this pregnancy yet but I have had it before being pregnant.

yep, its heartburn. Get some tums. Ice cream helps a lot too. Feel better!

Heartburn is brutal. I had it all through my last pregnancy and now this one too. Ask your doctor about Zantac, I take two Zantac 150's twice a day. Much more effective than Tums.
