I just started to pump in the last couple of days. RJ is not very happy about the bottle but eventually he'll take it. Pedi suggested giving him a bottle a day so he gets and stays used to it for when I can't BF him.
I started pumping after my milk came in and my engorgement was gone. I started giving a bottle when I was engorged because he couldn't latch because my breasts were so swollen my nipples were flat before I figured out I could use a nipple shield so he got his first bottle around 1 week and now switched easily back and forth between breast and bottle with no problems. I use Nuk bottles and pacis.

I started pumping within a couple of weeks w/DD#1. My pedi gave me the best advice re: bottle- she said it's best to introduce within the first month of life. So you get a few weeks to est. bf'ing, then start introducing the bottle. Oh, and I was never a very fruitful pumper so had to supplement w/formula. If you need to do that, just start by adding like 1/4 bm to 3/4 formula & keep adding from there. My girls would take any kind of bottle- bm, formula or a mix- it was great.
Also, once you intro the bottle, do practice on a regular basis. And don't be like my idiot SIL who decided that it was just so 'natural' to bf she would prefer not to try the bottle until the kid was 4 mos old and less than 2 weeks before returning to work. Poor, poor baby was so miserable. Sorry, little vent there
We have been giving LO a bottle since he was three weeks old. After I feed him at night, we always give him two ounces of formula to top him off and help him sleep better at night. Otherwise, he would BF every other feed.
I started pumping after about a month. My milk supply was very low so I would pump a little after each feed (or as many as I could) to increase the supply.
Now I am at work - LO goes back and forth from formula and breast milk and bottle and breast. Thankfully, he does great with both!
I started pumping at 2 weeks, we gave him his first bottle at 3. It takes him a bit to get used to the bottle, but he takes it just fine. I'm using Avent.

This. My DD hates the bottle too! We're currently using first year breastflow bottle. My suggestion, only buy 1 bottle at a time in case your LO doesn't like it. It takes DD 20 mins to take 1 oz of BM.

I've been pumping since sunday
I don't do it for every feeding but the LC suggested it to me because I had a shallow latch with DD & my right nipple is blistered
