How long did you ladies wait to drive? My DD is almost a week old and I think I am ok to drive now. The nurses said 2 weeks but I think that is way longer than necessary.
My doctor told me to wait if I could... and I was in quite a bit of pain for the first 2 weeks anyways. We also waited to take DD out of the house until she was 2 weeks old, so I had no need to drive before then anyway.
My doc said 5 days... I waited one. I am on pain meds though and don't drive if I have taken them. I'm going to drive tomorrow - have to take DS to his doc appt. no one else here to drive me, so I don't know how C/S moms do it if they can't drive for two weeks. Props to making that work!!
I delivered on Saturday and drove back to the hospital Monday to buy my breast pump. Nobody told me any different. Driving was fine, but the walking between the building to my car was a bit much at that point!
My OB said I could drive right away. I didn't tho until LO's 1wk appt with her pedi (DH and I had to take seperate cars because he had to go to work immediately after). I thought I felt fine, but once I got home I really didn't - I needed to take a painkiller. I guess the vibration affected me mroe than I realized.
Re: Driving after vaginal birth
they told me two weeks, but that was only because i was prescribed vicodin as my pain medication. they don't want you driving while taking it.
i never needed to take it, so i started driving within a few days. if you're up to it, go for it! it saved my sanity to get out of the house.
4 days. I had to take LO to the doctors.
No one told me I couldn't drive.
Same here. I really wasn't feeling well enough to go anywhere anyway.
