Ladies, I need your help!

Our 4th anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks...any ideas where we can road trip to? We live in Georgia and we're tired of just going to the beach or to the mountains. We want to actually go do something, but not too expensive of course! Wink TIA!!!

    i would suggest going to hilton head, sc or savannah. dh's parents live in hilton head and we got married at palmetto bluff just outside savannah. it might be kind of expensive to stay  in the cottages there but you should definitely visit at least!

    This is going to sound totally dorky, but DH and I just went to colonial Williamsburg and had a really good time! lol,  It might be a really long car trip for you though.

    I usually just lurk on here, but I live in GA too. Have you been to Chattanooga?  I went last year and it was really fun. I watch Georgia Traveler on GPB sometimes to get ideas for inexpensive weekend trips.

    I have been to Chattanooga more times than I can count! lol! DH is from Florida and has only been once or twice, but we will keep it in mind. Thanks!

    If you're both drinking at that time, there are some decent wineries in north Georgia you could go to. You can't go up there expecting a Sonoma or Napa experience but we've had some great times up there if you're looking for a quick trip. There are also some wineries that have accomodations (Monteluce I think) and there are also some Inns and B&Bs. Have fun!

    I know I'm late with this, but I wanted to suggest Jackson Hole Gem Mine in the Highlands, North Carolina.  It's about a 3 hour drive from Atlanta.  My co-worker has been there several times and loves it!  It's pretty cheap and he and his wife always end up walking away with a nice gem, or two.  Also, it's in the Highlands, which is a very nice area, so there are lots of other things to do.  Here's their website: https://www.jacksonholegemmine.com/ 9770 Highlands Road Highlands, NC 28741
