I'm worried our LO's dosage was miscalculated or something since I just saw someone say that the max for their baby's weight (older than ours and he's not above average size, actually below average) was 1 mL twice a day, but he's on 1.6mL twice a day.
He weighs 12 lbs 10 oz now, but has been on this dosage since about 10 lbs 15 oz.
ETA: I just reread the post below and saw that her baby is a preemie so maybe he is smaller than our Toodle and that explains it! I need better reading comp skills...but still curious to alleviate my concerns. Thanks, ladies!
Re: What's your LO's zantac dosage and weight?
11 lbs. 6 oz. = .7 mL a day (3x a day)
He gains weight like CRAZY so it stopped working for him because he kept growing out of his dosage.
DS1 is 36 pounds 11 ounces and takes 1.2mL twice a day.
DS2 is 11 pounds 15 ounces and takes 1mL per day.
When he was 11 lbs 11 oz the NP calculated it at .8ml 2x/day. When he was 13 lbs 3 oz the pedi calculated it at .8ml 2x/day. I asked how that could be and the pedi said the original dose should have been .5ml 2x/day. Don't ask me what happened b/c I have no idea.
Regardless, the dose seems low to me. I am assuming the concentration of medicine is the same across the board. His reflux is overall much improved although he has episodes occasionally.
