Whats with all the Obama/Hitler comparisons?? MH just emailed me that a bunch of parents & teachers were emailing around his school someting about how they're alike: we're forcing our kids to listen to Obama just like they did Hilter in Nazi Germany... and I saw a bumper sticker the other day with Obama's picture that said, "Hitler gave good speeches, too".
I think its depressing & offensive.... have you guys seen this too??
Re: RE: Obama...
I posted this this morning (I took it off a different board) but it really sums up how I feel lately.
I have truly gotten to the point of frustration with the lack of civil discussion in this country that I am starting to believe we are seeing the beginning of the end of the U.S. We can longer fix our problems because we spend all of the time yelling and name calling. While we bicker we inch closer to the edge. Agree or not agree with Obama's healthcare reform the truth is something is needed. However, any discussion on the topic is shouted down. Even now the president, an office we used to respect, is accused of brainwashing children simply because he wants to encourage them to do better. Reagan did it. The first Bush did it. Obama has been accused of being a socialist because he thinks the wealthiest country in world can do a better job of caring for its citizens. Isn't that a Christian principal, not socialist? Or can it not be since Obama suggested it and according to the hate spewers he isn't Christian or even a citizen of the U.S. for that matter. Now the term "socialist" isn't strong enough and we've moved to "fascist". Like a child you throw the F word around not knowing what it means. You only know it gets attention and you giggle because you've used a big boy word. I just hope when the administration changes hands, as it always does, that those doing the yelling, name calling and hate spewing aren't surprised when it happens to "their" side. This country is more and more turning into a really horrible marriage. The screaming is getting louder. The name calling is getting worse. Threats of physical violence are escalating. All the while the home is falling apart.
Well said, Liz. Totally agree on every point.
