Formula for Baby with Reflux

Hi girls!  My son has recently developed what we think is reflux.  He was vomiting (not just spitting up) all weekend and then would be fine (no fever and still had plenty of wet diapers).  I had began giving him more formula for the last week because he was still hungry after 4 oz, but have since moved back down to 4 oz every 2 1/2-3 hours.  The nurse I spoke to also started me using mylanta every 6 hours to see how he does.  He has gotten better, but is still spitting up and seems to be in a little pain after he eats.  I have a doctor's apt on Friday, but was curious if anyone found any relief for their baby by switching formula.  There seems to be some out there that say they are better for reflux.  At this point I don't want to make his issue any worse, so I was hoping for some feedback from those of you with experience.

Re: Formula for Baby with Reflux

  • We are on Nutramigen.  It's hypoallergenic so it tends to be easier on the tummy.  He is also on Prevacid.  Zantac is CRAP .. it did NOTHING for my DS.  GL & HTH, I hope you find a regimen that works for you!
