I had my annual today and the nurses had to hold DD during my appt. I felt so bad (she wasnt crying just wanted to be held bc she was tired) and they didnt mind & said they are used to it but i just felt bad or like a bad mom for some reason.
I brought DS when I had my IUD inserted. He woke up from a nap and was starving but didn't get too fussy in his car seat until the end of my appointment. My doc took him to "see the girls" at the front desk while I got changed. He started bawling while she was holding him, but no one seemed to care. I think they're used to it, and I know the desk staff loved meeting him after seeing my pregnant belly for so many months and weeks in a row (especially because I had a rough pregnancy).
I actually had my mom watch DD that day because I was afraid of that. Poor thing- you're not a bad mom, I'm sure that happens more often than you think!
Aww don't feel bad! At least DD got to be held which is what she wanted, right? Those appts don't take very long so I'm sure she was back in your arms in no time

You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
Ummm...why? They probably actually really enjoyed it. There never seems to be a shortage of free hands when there's an infant in the room!
i know and i know the girl holding her was loving it and DD fell asleep on her so she didnt care i guess i just felt like i was putting them out when they are there to do work, not hold my baby...idk, i know its silly.
I had to go to the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago to pick up my new contacts and glasses, and had to sit down in the chair for the doctor to check the fit of the contacts. I happened to be wearing DS that day, so one of the technicians had to come in and hold him for a little bit. Fortunately my husband is the district manager of this particular vision center, so they already knew who I was and were familiar with the baby. The nurse probably enjoyed holding your sweet girl!
DS stayed in his car seat the whole time at my visit (which was delayed until today). I wouldn't worry about it though, I'm sure it is normal for them and they enjoy it. How do you feel about your pedi and their nurse holding LO? Think of it that way.
We always loved it at my office to get to hold the babies while mom was busy. Plus you were at an OB-GYN, so it is not like they don't love babies there. Don't worry about it. I am sure they had fun holding your LO.
Re: Has anyone had to do this at the obgyn?
