Progesterone

I started taking vaginal suppositories (100 mg 2x a day) of progesterone yesterday and I?m wondering how soon the side effects can appear. As of now I?ve only taken 3 doses but I swear I?m more hungry and tired ? is this just in my mind or can it really be the progesterone? TIA for your help!

    No, not in your mind. I was always tired and nauseous after a couple of days of prog.
    02/08 BFP resulted in m/c 4/10/08 (11 weeks)
    10/08 Clomid Cycle #1 = m/c 11/7/08 (6 weeks)
    03/09 Clomid Cycle #2 = BFN
    3 rounds of Femara + Ovidrel + IUI =BFN
    10/18/09 2nd Break Cycle (post HSG) before IVF #1 = BFP!

    Its the progesterone....

     

    not only am I tired I've also got a lovely case of acne again =o( BOO!!

    Absolutely. And I did 3 IUI's thinking I was KU each time. I will never be able to have phantom symptoms again.

    Definitely not in your mind! I feel it after my first day...
    Started TTC in August 2007, 1st BFP March 2008, natural m/c April 11th, 2008. 2nd BFP 1/1/09, diagnosed with possible ectopic 1/16/09, got Methotrexate shot 1/18/09. On Bromocriptine to balance my high prolactin levels (thanks to tiny brain tumor) that messes with my body. Long cycles and unexplained infertility suck monkey balls! July 09- Clomid 50mg HCG shot TI prog. supps= negative. August 09- Clomid 50mg HCG shot IUI prog. supps=negative. September 09- Clomid 50mg HCG shot b2b IUI's prog. supps: negative. October 09- Clomid 100mg HCG b2b IUI's prog.supps: negative. November 09- cycle cancelled due to cyst.... IVF is next.... December 09- Beginning of IVF, Lupron, BCP's Jan-Feb 10- IVF retrieved 6 matured eggs, all fertilized, 2 transferred, 1 lost, 3 frozen= BFP! betas: 8dp5dt (13dpo)= 176, 11dp5dt (16dpo)= 728! October 2010: Boy/Girl twins born. Now... trying to get fit!

    I was so tired after taking 2 doses of progesterone (200mg twice a day) that I called my nurse. She suggested cutting back to 1 a day orally. Me being concerned about a possible baby stuck out the 2 times a day vaginally. I wasn't as tired as I first was at the beginning, but I didn't have any trouble falling asleep at night!

     

    Call your doctor and see if they suggest you cutting back your dosage or taking them orally instead.
