(I'm sure this has been posted many times...)
But I'm a pretty creative person. And I want to think of a cute way to tell me and DH's parents. I was going to the "Big sister to be" shirt but it takes too long to ship and get here. I can't wait that long! (Althought I will order one for DD.)
The other way is to get a blank card and put a picture of DH, Me, and DD in it and write... Pen: $.25 Picture: $.09 Card: $1.50 Your face after telling you there are 4 people in this picture: Priceless
Whatcha think?
Re: How are you telling your family?
I like the card idea that's cute!
I love being crafty, I made picture frames for my parents and in-laws painted them yellow and green, got some cute scrapbook paper and little baby sayings and decoupaged them on. In the frame I wrote "Coming Late March!" It was all farely inexpensive too. The frames were bare and $3/ea so it made it worth being able to put some work into it. I also applied ribbon to each one to hang.
The card idea is cute. Another variation you could consider might be:
Pen: $.25, Picture: $.09, Card: $1.50, Revealing that there are actually 4 people in this picture: Priceless
Good Luck!
We just told my parents/grandmas this weekend.
For my mom, we gave her a grandparents day card signed "Baby W" and "coming 3/30/10." I told her it was a name day card because she was making a huge deal out of her nameday this year (name days are really popular in greece, and sometimes more celebrated than birthdays).
My dad's birthday is Friday, so since we were there (they live out of state) we celebrated and gave him a gift after cake. It was a photo album that said "grandkids" on it and then in the photo window in the front it said "photo coming 3/30/10 (or thereabouts)."
Not terribly original but it went over well and everyone was so excited. I swear my dad was staring at the album forever, though. lol.
