This request probably sounds funny coming from an "already mom" but we need a few new items for DD2.
Can you recommend a great:
-bouncy seat
- exersaucer type thing (already have a jumperoo)
- activity mat (our baby einstein ocean theme mat is a piece of crap)
...and can you tell me why you like it?
Re: recs for bouncy seat, exersaucer, activity mat
Ava loved her papsan type bouncy when she was younger, really snuggled her up nice. Then again, she liked the $3 garage sale one, too. lol.
Do you have a "just between friends" sale near you coming up? I'm going to my 1st one soon, but from what I hear, they are the mother of all garage sales, and really rock.
My (MN) postcards says jbfsale.com
We have the FP Rainforest bouncy and activity mat. I love the bouncy because of the vibration and because you can bounce it with your foot and that ALWAYS calmed down Brady and seems to be doing the same for Nolan. And the removable toy bar is great too, when they are small you can just leave it off, but when they get bigger it is good entertainment. And I like the activity mat because of all the toys and the lights and music. It was Brady's favorite thing when he was little...he would spend many hours playing on that thing. So far Nolan isnt a fan, but I hope as he gets older he will enjoy it just as much. We dont have an exersaucer so no recs there.
You are getting so close!!
we have 3 bouncers - the nature's purest, the bright stars (which was about $20), and the fisher price infant to toddler rocker. DS liked them all, but i think he liked the cheap one the best. we got the rocker because of the kick stand - he kept leaning forward!
we have the baby einstein musical activity center and DS loves it. we also got a tiny love gymini and DS loved that as well!
I like the FP bouncy seats as well (like Mr&MrsS....). We have the "Bobblin' Band" one (don't know if they still make it.....but it has similar features to the Rainforest one....). Here is why I like it so much: there is a function where when the baby kicks the music comes on......so once they are strong enough to kick the seat they learn the cause & effect skill. There is also the option to just have the music playing at all times for when they are younger. Also, the FP ones are very "colorful" which is great for coordination and development!
As for our Exersaucer......we have the Baby Einstein one and we love it. Its one of the more pricier ones, but you get what you pay for. I had originally registered for one less expensive and when we took it out of the box, it had like no toys on it and seemed really "floppy." It held up really well and Connor was very active (as you know!) and he pulled and kicked on everything and its still in perfect condition
I have one of the Baby Einstein mats and I really liked it. I don't think ours had as much "stuff" on it as the ocean one.......but its still in great shape. I think Tiny Love makes mats now and I really, really like their stuff (great quality.....), check one of theirs out!
GL!
we loved the FP rainforest bouncy and activity mat..and will be using them again this time around...the boys LOVED both of them.
we also got the FP infant to toddler rocker after they started trying to flip the bouncy seats..they still use those

oh, i didn't put why..
with the bouncy, the boys really loved the bar thing that went on it...most of them are boring, and nothing to care much about..but this one was animated and they adored it.
the activity mat was great..so colorful, and the boys loved the songs and lights that played..i mean they just stared at it for so long and were fascinated..they kept wanting to play with it much longer than they needed it..i brought it back out at their first bday, because their 2 month old cousin was here..and the boys were all over it again!

We have two bouncy seats and DD definitely prefers one over the other.
The new one we got as a gift (FP Precious Planet Giraffe) vibrates and has toys that hang down, but nothing to really capture the attention. No music, movement, etc. The hand-me-down one (FP Ocean Wonders) lets DD kick at the toys to make bubbles/music/noisein the activity bar. She loves to watch the bubbles and is perfectly content to kick at the toys for 15-20 minutes. Perfect while I'm trying to cook or eat or shower!
We have the Evenflo Triple Fun exersaucer. DS LOVES it. One piece attaches to a base for a floor mat thing, and then it has lots of fun things to use on the exersaucer, and you can even buy new toys to swap out on it. Then it converts to a seatless S shaped standing toy the kiddo can walk around to play on. Hour of fun with that thing!
Can't help much on the others, as we didn't have a bouncy seat, and used the activity mat that the exersaucer made, but DS didn't like it much.
