Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Sex after having a baby help!

okay, so due to problems with my cervix my hubby and I could NOT have sex the whole time we were pregnant! So the LAST TIME we have had sex was November 12th, 2008!!! How horrible is that!?!?! So tomorrow is my 6 week check up to make sure my cervix is back  to normal and get the ok to have sex again and get back on the pill, my question is....I know it is gonna hurt and I hear some of you say how uncomfortable it is when you have sex after the baby is born. What can I do to make it better? KY jelly? What did you girls do. We are gonna try to make it a VERY romantic night but I am SCARED TO DEATH!!! Any advice?

  • hahaha, Why didnt I think of that!!! I will be sure to get a good bottle of wine!!!!!!!! Thanks!
  • First thing you have to do is RELAX!

It will not be even remotely enjoyable if you are stressed.  Get some KY for sure since you haven't had sex in so long.  Have a couple of glasses of wine and just go for it.  Make sure he goes slow.

    GL!

  • Lube is your friend! Wine is definitely a good idea too. I had MASSIVE tearing and I did it at my 6 weeks! It hurt pretty bad at first but once it was all the way in (sorry TMI) it really didnt hurt much anymore! GL!
  • Take it slow, use lube, and try to relax.

  • Inebriate and lubricate.  And take it slow and your DH should be prepared to back off and be a bit more gentle if you tell him.  I never found it painful, just a tad uncomfortable at times.  Things have moved around so it may feel a bit weird.

  • Lube and patience.  And you might want to warn your DH that it might not work the first time (too painful).  That was the case for us, but even a few days made a difference and the second time around was very nice.  I'd advise not trying to force things the first time around.  Just relax and enjoy whatever you're able to handle.
  • Thank you ladies!!!!!!!!!
