dressing baby warm enough for bed

I constantly stress about this. In MA, the evenings have been pretty cold, 50's or 60's. I have DS in a light cotton long sleeve shirt pajama set. I know, I will be using my down comforter tonight, and I'm wondering if I should put DS in a sleep sack. I need to get some lightweight ones and only have a microfleece and an angora. I want to make sure he's comfortable, but don't want to overdress him. What is your LO wearing to bed and what temp is t where you live? Oh, and DS will kick off any blanket so I can't do that!

    right now I have her in a onsie and a fleece sleep sack. she also won't keep blankets on, and we keep it cool in our house at night.

    I worry about this too.  I'm in NH, and the temp is similar.  We shut all the windows, so it's about 65 in our house now.  I put DD in a terry cloth sleeper, with a crocheted blanket (she's slept with it since day 1).  If she wakes up and seems cold, I might put her in the light cotton sleep sack...

    Short sleeve onesie and cotton swaddleme.  It's gets down to the upper 50's these days, but our house is set at 74 degrees (which is actually more like 72).

    We keep it about 68-70 at night. We put DS in footie pajamas and a swaddler.

    I say try the sleep sack and if he wakes up sweaty you know it was too much. I would rather have her warm then cold kwim.

    DS is in a light weight, short sleeved onesie and swaddled. We keep his room 68-70 (his monitor has a temp display).

    Even this is sometimes too warm as sometimes you can feel the moisture on his back.

    I don't think you should put in a blanket - SIDS risk and all. If you think LO is uncomfortable - which he will display to you through crying, disrupted sleep pattern, etc then you could use one of those sleep sacks for added warmth.

    I don't think playing it 'safe' by making baby too wam rather than too cold is best IMO - because too warm is a factor that makes SIDS risk higher - though I know you are almost out of the woods with that at 5 months.

    I usually put DD in a footed sleeper or a sleep sack... if it gets cold enough, I'll put socks on her hands to keep them warm as well.

    I worry about this too. I'm always adjusting the temp in the house when I think she's hot or cold. It's still pretty warm here at night in Florida. She wears a long sleeved onesie to bed at night, and she's usually okay. My pedi told me to check her hands and feet, and if they aren't cold she's fine.
